High in the Andes mountains live Aymara Indians in great poverty. Their village has no electricity and only few have running water. Their crop, corn and patatoes, is just enough to eat from. Their is no trade. Due to lack of rain harvest has even diminished more. In order to earn money, to buy clothes, rice, sugar and schoolbooks for children the farmers have to work several months in the more fertile Yungas. Still nobody wants to leave their birthground as they are used to this harsh live. foto: Ton Hendriks (see: www.tonhendriks.nl)
